Brrrrrrrrr! It must have been in the single digits this morning when I headed out for my run. I definitely underestimated the temps when I headed out. My hands and face were frozen for most of the run. It didn’t help that there was a steady, biting wind that seemed to be hitting me head-on no matter what direction I was traveling. For one brief moment, I felt the warm sun thaw my cheeks and lips, but they immediately froze again as I turned a corner and headed into the shade. The warmth of my woodstove, the smell of homemade waffles cooking in my antique waffle iron (circa 1930), and Maddie’s energetic chirps greeted me as I walked in the door. It just doesn’t get much better than that!

It’s amazing how the pace of an easy run picks up when its cold!!!

I just signed on to this wonderful site. I want to follow Maddie and her Mom make their successful moves throughout this year. It was COLD here in Pennsylvania too. But my runs are nothing compared to what you are doing up in Maine where I spend part of my summers. Hey, where do we donate dollars? Saw it when I first saw the site but sort of lost that link.

It was cold yesterday – combined with the wind I got that annoying “eyes freezing shut” phenomenon when I blinked a couple of times. And the pace was certainly a little quicker than it was supposed to be.
