Maddie went up last night to spend the weekend with Gramps and Beebe at the cottage on Flying Pond and Brad went skiing this morning.  So, I enjoyed having a leisurely morning and getting out for my run on my own schedule.  I decided to wait until it was light and the sun had warmed up the icy roads a bit.  We got a wonderful mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain last night.  Oh, the joys of living on the coast of Maine!  The roads were a mucky, slushy, slippery, muddy, icy, and you can pretty much insert any wintry, treacherous condition in here.  But the traffic was light, so there wasn’t much of a need for dodging cars or quickly slipping off the shoulder of the road into a snow bank.  In fact, it was a beautiful, cool (not cold) morning and a great run.  Today’s run was an easy effort, as I’m hoping to run the Mid-winter 10-miler in Cape Elizabeth tomorrow.  I felt much better than yesterday, thanks in part to a good night’s sleep last night.  Looking forward to a good, hard effort tomorrow.
